Russia Finds Way to Increase Oil Yield Up To 600%

Russia's come up with a way to release more oil from oil wells; essentially breaking up rock that had otherwise trapped large amounts of oil - they're reporting up to 6x more yield from existing wells (1.7x to 6x depending on the well). If it's true, that's a fucking huge increase.
In theory the process is pretty similar to hydraulic fracturing, but instead of blasting rocks with a high-pressure jet, they're able to inject some binary chemical compound that breaks up the clusters. As a result it can be used in existing oil wells as well as the shale that fracking normally drills into and has virtually no environmental impact as the compound does not produce any toxic byproducts and doesn't appear to have the potential to leak oil into the water table as is associated with fracturing. -

Russia and Germany are in secret meetings reportedly working out a long-term energy treaty -

That's great news. EU/Russia/China/Iran alliance, trade agreements and/or general cooperation would benefit all the countries involved while Uncle Sam can go and get bent. -
