Box in right corner of post....why

   Whats the little box in the upper right corner of my posts when they are at the bottom of a thread?
   
   When I click it, my post turns blue. Is it so I can color my posts? But then, why is it in posted posts and not un-posted posts?
   
   Also, why does Lanny say 'blood' so much? Did he see a pre-release of 'straight outta compton'?
