   most people don't really care about the artistic value, they just want something trendy they can hum along to and so it sells. not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just common sense to assume that since there are many hobbies and things you could do, that the majority of humans would not be super into any one particular thing, like listening to music for any sort of depth that goes beyond face value
