5 was what I could find a cracked version of easily. Honestly vB3 will forever have a place in my heart but really every version is shitty PHP, 4/5 are just more pretentions and bureaucratic than 3.A better question is why haven't you killed yourself yet?
A VALID QUESTION -

2015-06-25 at 3:56 AM UTC3's kinda outdated but still mostly functional. 4 was the best IMAO. Had the best layout, functionality, customization, etc. Then 5 was where it really went downhill. But yeah, if you can't find a copy of 4, that's fine. Although honestly, I would just go with SMF over 5 if you can't find a copy of 4.

I'll let all these bad reviews speak for themselves.

Alternatively, just do a google search for "vBulletin 5 review" without quotes. But hey, they might've fixed all the problems. It has been 3 years since its release. -
2015-06-26 at 3:35 AM UTCLooks like theirs also some security issue's with this specific release... one makes all of your attachments public.
Is it possible to patch a pirated copy without invoking the wrath of vb's piracy department? -
2015-06-26 at 5:46 AM UTCAgain, I honestly just think Lanny should switch over to SMF if he can't get vB4 but it's his decision in the end.

Again, I honestly just think Lanny should switch over to SMF if he can't get vB4 but it's his decision in the end.
I registered JUST to respond to this. Don't... use... smf. I can compromise those sites in like a fucking hour. I have screenshotted proof of this as I have done it on several occasions. I don't have an issue with you but you keep spreading misinformation. VB4 is pretty solid and IPB will always be superior. All forums have their problems. It's just about which exploits you feel like having in your forum. Again, they ALL have problems
Also, hello fags -

I wouldn't know about the security of SMF but here's the thing.
1. If you can find your way into SMF, you can probably get into vBulletin as well. If people want to get in, they'll find a way no matter HOW secure someone claims something is.
2. Even if they did get in, regular backups should be made so you can restore everything exactly back to how it was at the touches of a button. -

Remember when someone loaded up a bunch of bots and flooded your SMF forum with CP multiple times? -

lol Well, it is open source so you can make changes to it and give them to the SMF staff and help improve it. -

Yeah or they just dump your admin username and password, log in as you and delete everything.
