basic tenets of interior design

2017-07-07 at 2:40 PM UTCI've been going to school now for interior design for a few years and the program I'm in is pretty rough as far as interior design goes. A lot of people don't realize the work that goes into designing a successful room/house/business. It's a subtle thing that people don't notice but it has a huge effect on their environment which in turn affects people's behavior. A restaurants interior design, for example, can make or break the business.
But people don't realize how important it is or how much work we do. I mean, we have A LOT of homework sometimes, and it can be pretty difficult because unlike the sciences where there is a hard answer to a question, interior design is more open to interpretation. But you know when it was done well.
It drives me crazy when other students at my school blow off my major or my experience because they think it's easy. It's not. It's just as difficult as getting a science degree. Everyone chooses a degree based on what suits them. It's so stupid to think that any one subject is harder than another to learn. It's all about your personality and how to approach it. -

Dude you don't even want to test me on this. You know nothing about harmony, transition, or contrast. Plus I've seen where you live, it's a shithole. Someday, provided you ever get a job (unlikely), you will be paying me to design your house. You're just not capable of the kind of thought that is required. -

I doubt some random mexican could do a good job. Like I said in my OP, it takes a lot of studying and practice to successfully design a room. If you want a space that vibes well, you need to hire a professional. Seriously, get someone who knows what they're doing or it will be a disaster.
Unless said Mexican has studied interior design from a good school. Then it might be alright. -
2017-07-07 at 2:53 PM UTCyou've been studying interior design for years? I feel like this is the setup to a joke that probably won't be all that funny

2017-07-07 at 3:38 PM UTCObviously an ironic thread, in actuality OP dismisses anything that isn't HARD MASCULINE SCIENCE (and mathematicsĀ®) as not real education because his actual field happens to something with a half decent labor market in the US at this particular turn in history, so of course all other streams of human activity are objectively worthless.

Dude, interior design IS hard masculine science. Since people seem to not know what science is here, maybe I can enlighten you by informing you of the scientific method. It looks like this:
As you can see, interior design qualifies as a science. I need to use those steps every day when designing. -
2017-07-07 at 3:45 PM UTCDo you see that, "Why does that pattern occur?" under the "think of interesting questions bubble"? What kind of pattern do you think they are talking about, moron?

I used to play with 3D studio max.. not one of those 3D house programs.. you needed to do everything from scratch. but it lets you do custom stuff too.. its basically the same as a CAD program called VIZ
Discreet doesn't exist anymore?
there is a boleen mode that punches figures into other figures (mesh models..etc)
so you can just use a plane and draw a line (spline) from point A to B on the map. and then raise the walls, punch windows and doorways then make custom windows and doors. create furniture and whatever
takes way longer but when you render it.. and with the right raytrace lighting or such.. it is very realistic looking.
Who want's to see my Man titse? -

If said Mexican is competent. But seeing as how we are referring to a fictional person, for all I know he could suck at it or be the best. Hence the uncertainty -

Yes, I am considering getting my masters in advanced vector feng shui actually. I heard it's tough though because you have to go a little past trigonometry and actually do like some simple calculus so a lot of people don't make it.
