As I sat in front of a terminal, wrists bleeding on a saturday night, dwelling over a tome of a unicode consortium publication looking for a way to deal with homoglypic usernames...
As I sat, RSI worsening, punching numbers into mathematica looking for a post frequency curve that I felt emotionally OK with fucking new users on but that would sufficiently control spam on a sunday night...
As I sat, bottle of rye in hand, no longer bothering with glasses, implementing conditional captchas on a monday night...
I realized how first rate this place's trolls are. I'm spending substantial portions of my life with problems I'm not convinced any human has had to think about at length because a combination or absurd prejudices (wanting to support the full range of unicode, not wanting to close registration) and people who are willing to go to lengths I just don't quite understand to post asinine bullshit on a backwaters internet forum. I was thinking about doing a writeup on the homoglyph thing because I've searched widely but I've yet to find anyone writing on a general approach that doesn't include script restrictions and scales in a typical RMDBS. Like goddamn, it may be an obscure sorta kinda but not really relevant subject but somehow, I don't know how, the sluntliness this site has to endure to has somehow pushed to the apparent edge of human knowledge.
So uh yeah, thanks I guess? It's actually kinda fun. But yall (you know who I mean) are still cunts.

You should write an academic paper on the subject.
