    You are failing at farm life if you cannot dig a hole to bury an animal or even move it so that you don't have to look at it/smell it rotting or put any of the other animals on your farm in danger.
    
    I've lived in India where they shat in the open and even those farmers knew to throw their dead animals down the river or burn them.

    
    If it was a large animal and she was going through withdrawals, with her chronic pain stemming from injuries, I could definitely understand delaying it.
    
    Digging a hole that large, deep enough, is a massive pain in the ass if you don't have access to heavy equipment and are just using a shovel.
