It was beautiful yesterday. if you stood in the sun it almost felt 70. today its shitty. semi sunny with giant looking storm clouds off the coast (I can see over the Golden Gate Bridge out into the ocean from here)
I don't want it to hit 102 like it did late in October last year (so weird even for Indian Summer). it was close to a 100 over 10 days. Its usually upper 70s or 80s after mid September. prime season for hotel and tourist. also they come to Fleet Week for the Blue Angels that fly over the GG Bridge and occasionally the city itself.
re: Blue Angels, they would start the show off with the "Fat Albert" Plane but stopped calling it "Fat Albert" when the Bill Cosby incident came to trial.
Fat Albert is a Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules cargo plan
this thing rumbles crazy Loud. I came out of work (near the wharf a decade back) and could hear that thing for like a solid minute before it flew over my head. low base rumbling sound that shakes everything like a quake. not even exaggerating (much). thing flew maybe 200 feet above
crazy times. a C-130 flew over my townhouse once back in the 1980s headed for Alameda NAS. people complained. when I was like 7-8 years old, The Navy had to stop "hotdogging" with their F-4 they did when I was a kid. flying super fast and low over the houses showing off. as kids we loved it. One neighbor complained it cracked their bathroom window. I guess that's possible but they weren't afterburning it.
whatever
Once upon a time a Jet crash like 5 blocks from our house when I was Six or 7 years of age. they thought (at the time) the pilot lit up a cigarette but it turned out to be something else. it was coming from Moffit Field and flying to Beal AFB (or Travis or something) but one of the two Corsair' suddenly flipped and dropped into a row of homes then slammed into a heavily dense apartment complex.
My brother saw one of the wings on fire but all I saw out the corner of my eye was a streak and then the sound of a screaming screech sound and what sounded like cars piling into one another on a highway. just rolling metal crashing and rolling sound
then a giant mush-shroom cloud of fire (It was night time)
I think we were watching Paul Lynde show. around 8pm to 8:30ish (bed time afterwards)
Yeah I know, Paul Lynde was a big HomoFag but he was funny as a kid
