If you add a subforum to T&T that is read only for everyone but has an option for users to apply for write permissions, i'll write an API, or we can both work on an API, plus a CLI. That would allow 'write users' to open threads that work a little like git repos. That would be cool. The CLI could be made to mirror commits to github, gitlab etc.
You could set up an organization on Github for free, or put some cash money towards it, in which case i'll pay half, which allows us to set up advanced features and integrations among which a slack channel and much, much more especially if we set up an enterprise level organization by paying a reasonable fee together. The slack part would have the added benefit of providing a chat room for those that would like to have a NiS hang out as IM.
With regards to creating a place where users can post code and such, say i write a thread on developing windows drivers, we could make it so that code tags can reference commits from the subforum, or even simpler, like video tags embed vids, code tags could be made to embed repos/commits, like so:

Embeds the code in the thread referenced by the url

Same story but embeds the relevant code hosted over at gitlab
Git* allows users to host binaries, packages, installers, complete releases basically. So what that also means is that we would have the ability to embed a complete release not impacting NiS storage by virtue of it being hosted over sat the Github organization.
There is a bunch more that we could do but i am a bit on a schedule atm so i will leave it at that for now.
