Oakland was up and coming and collapsed in on itself especially during Covid. only a couple decent venues like Fox and Paramount Theater exists along with a few decent clubs. nothing else. East Oakland will never dig itself out of stupid mode and will always be like South Side Chicago because no one wants to fix shit. corruption and creepy shit goes on out there.

Oakland is actually a Wealthy City with half the homes in the hills going for 2-4 Million for average size houses (Zillow that shit)
The Oakland A's was going to put a stadium on the waterfront and replace one of the Ports of Oakland (Which they themselves are in question of future existence because their cranes are so fucking outdated and the esturary has to be purged of slurry aka Quaternary dune sand has to be removed every 5-10 years and is super expensive to do
Pre Covid there were some 30 new Night Clubs and Food Venues opening up in the downtown.
Koreans started creating a Korea Town in the North side of West Oakland
Lake Merritt real estate was going through the roof
the Wayan Brothers were going to open their own Movie Studio at one time but backed out
