The collapse of insectsThe demise of insects can’t be attributed to any single cause. Populations are facing simultaneous threats, from habitat loss and industrial farming to climate change. Nitrogen overloading from sewage and fertilizers has turned wetlands into dead zones; artificial light is flooding out nighttime skies; and the growth of urban areas has led to concrete sprawl.
“Until recently, loss of land was the single greatest driver” of the decline, Wagner said. “But climate change is becoming a far more severe and ominous threat by drying out parts of the planet that were chronically wet. And that is absolutely catastrophic for a lot of insects.”

Ticks keep biting my dog. Gotta spend $200 on tick chewies.
Bring back DDT. A penny's worth of DDT powder would kill all fleas and ticks for a month. Completely harmless unless you are a bug.

I can’t say I’ve put it to the test but that’s not the story I’ve been told about DDT

Rachel Carson's husband died of cancer. She became convinced it was caused by pesticides. So she wrote her bogus book. Jackie Kennedy read it and got hubby to ban DDT. Stupid countries around the world did the same cuz we did it.
But this had two good effects:
*Malaria came roaring back and killed 50MM negros and assorted brown people.
*Bugs never developed immunity to DDT.
So now is a good time to re-legalize it and use it prudently to avoid immunity. It's already been legalized in Africa.
