I really think MAGA know they've made an awful choice but expect others to step in and fix it. No one is coming to save you. And it's -250F in space. The temperature on the Moon is -250F. A rocket wouldn't even fire in anything below about -60F, because the fuel would gum up, and the body and internals of the rocket itself would shrink rapidly, decreasing the size of different parts at different rates, creating jams and blowouts.

Not to mention, but just a few minutes inside the Van Allen radiation belt would fry human flesh like an egg on the griddle without at least 20 inches of lead shielding.
