   Nah the entire wall has to be ripped down and reframed, it's not even worth fixing at this point. Maybe you could pull the trim out a little bit, but that would be noticeable too.

   Yes, rebuilding the entire wall is way simpler and easier than jus retrimming the door with a wider trim.
   This guy does this for a living, folks.

   Also picrel is pretty standard in large scale home construction. Shit, it’s probably a higher standard than any new construction out there.

   Read again, this time for comprehension. I didn't say anything about one of the options being easier than the other. It doesn't even matter, all that matters is what looks better.
   
   Retrimming it would be less noticeable but at the point where you are spending more than 20 or 30$ to fix something that one person might look at and forget about in 30 years, you're just better of leaving it.

    That’s not what matters lmao. What matters is the value of what you’re getting compared to the price. It’s infinitely more beneficial and infinitely cheaper to the homeowner to retrim the door than it is to redo the whole bathroom.
    
    If all that mattered was how things looked than everything would be subway tile and matte black trim and every single contractor out there would mass suicide overnight.
