    Jim crow laws ENFORCED segregation after the Civil War. So your statement that it ruined this country makes very little sense.

    I think you may be confusing Jim Crow (which enforced disparity among races) with Affirmative Action (which sought to incorporate minorities into equal representation within the federal system).

    I met his Cousin Bob Croce in the late 90's at St. Elizabeth's women college. I was living with some chick who had a however many year class reunion there.

    It was in the nun's house, yiu couldn't smoke, the only adult refreshments was shitty grocery store wine, and the crowd was a bunch middle aged catholic women with hen pecked husbands.

    I got bored and decided to take a walk as the campus kind if green and sprawling. I figured to burn a bowl and dull the boredom. That's when I heard a few notes from an acoustic guitar. I walked towards the sound and in about 100 yards I saw a really cool outdoor amphitheatre built into a green earthen bowl lined with stone benches.

    Down at the bottom was a guy with a guitar, amps, mics, and a few lights. Long story short I introduced myself and it turned out he was there as the entertainment for the reunion. The whole deal got a lot less boring when the show started. He didn't cover even one if his cousin's songs as he explained he wanted to be his own artist and not ride on his dead cousin's coattails.

    After the show I shot the shit with him as I helped him load his equipment. He told me he played the last Wednesday of every month at a place called the Back Fence on Bleaker St. In Grenich Village. Occasionally I would drive into the city, check his show, and hang out in the village with him after the show.
