But how? he never got offed for taking the Italian Mafia to court and putting the mob bosses away and somehow made a deal for them to shut down the Red Light district so it became almost a fucking Disney Land of nice shops and tourist shops
I understand this part. San Francisco is just weird. I think the people elected in have connections to gangs and their own form of Mafia if you will
San Francisco always had crime in its history from the Barbary Coast era through the 20s (union riots which lead to deaths) and the 30s and 40s with some Mafia related shit to gangs from the 50s on up just like any other major or port city has.
but it was mostly safe throughout most districts up until about 2000. maybe even the late 90s. after the fall of the great Tech Boom around 2018 (just before Covid hit) money was everywhere. these fucking liberal people in power made sure the tech companies kicked back and kept forcing stupid taxes or rules onto them. People like Musk said "Fuck this place" and left
Recently a well respected Mark Benioff who is real generous with gifting hospitals without trying to LLC it for business reasons (unlike Zuckerburg). He might be moving HQ out soon. his Brand New tower (The tallest in San Francisco) is mostly empty. he rented part of it out to another company who has since moved out.
People have been trying to get Bar Hours to stay open til 4am like NYC and dress up the newer Downtown near Sales Force to become like Broadway in NYC. with lights and ad-boards. bring nightlife to SF. hopefully with a large Police presence that actively look for criminals in real time. but somehow it's incapable of doing so. One is the lawsuits of Police Brutality and "Because I'm Black" which might has some truth to this day but lets be honest, a lot of crazy fucks use excuses.
So everyone is leaving. Twitter/X has left, Elon Musk is taking that along with tesla HQ away. Google moved out but to San Jose which is a little bit better but still in the bay area. but a lot of companies went belly up
