I've been streaming TV since Roku came out and PS Vue (the first good cable substitute, long defunct). Tried everything but Apple TV (never owned an Apple product and never will).
My recommendations:
*Walmart ONN Google TV box for $20, less bloat than Fire-stick and has its own internal volume control
*Install the Browse Here web browser (made by TCL) to watch web based video like C-span and pirated sports
*Install Smart Tube to watch YT without ads
*You Tube TV if you have bad antenna reception, $83
*Sling Blue if you have good antenna reception, $46
*Ideally, just watch free TV like Pluto and the Roku Channel
*Conservatives, subscribe to KlowdTV for $2.50/month to get OAN
YTTV is a pretty bad deal now unless you use it at two or more houses (you can also do this with Sling). Only three streams but you can always use the "anywhere app" for individual channels.
I'm probably going to dump YTTV, get some type of networked TV tuner for one of our two houses and switch to Sling.

YTTV is p good but not cheap, yeah. The NFL shit has been nice so we don’t have to use shitty pirate streams anymore.
For anything that’s not live I’d rather grab it off a good tracker and watch it on plex
