Relating back to the 48 Laws of Power by my nigga Robert Greene, Always say less than necessary.

As many of you know I have always enjoyed talking, my 40,000 posts spread between 69 alts is a testament to this fact.

However I've noticed the benefit in person communication when someone is doing something or may be doing something that is disagreeable I go from my normally loquacious self and say as little as possible. In one on one communicating this seems to be very effective in high stress situations.

I just clam up and they fill the silence, when they follow suit a simple "go on." Or "I think I understand" is often enough to spur them on into revealing more and more.

Then when i do ultimately speak they seem to be attuned to my carefully selected words and the effect is much greater than if I had spoken 50% or even 20%.

It reveals much about them while holding my position very tightly and seems beneficial especially when my goal is to learn their side and the reality of the situation.
