    Even in the poorest countries actual slavery is very rare. Highly illegal and only done by criminals.

    There is no need for slavery in the modern world because technology makes everything so cheap especially labor. If you work and live in some factory in China there is nothing stopping you from just walking out the door and doing something else.

    If someone does try to stop you that would be against the law and they would get shut down eventually.
