Will powerlines fuck up a drone?

They say things about not flying them near high voltage power lines but idk if that's for the power lines benefit or the drone. The best scenery I know of is usually near high voltage power lines but I don't normally like going because it probably gives you cancer.

I lost a cheap drone once, idk if it just went out of range or something interfered with it. They say to get away from other things like wifi. Anyway it went haywire and flew like 100 feet up in a tree so I'm scared of losing them now.

Yes, pretty sure you have to go far above the lines and avoid them actively

I don't see any that display the signal strength so I'm afraid to let them get too far. The newer ones all have wires coming out of them ig are antennas so they're probably better about that.

But if you did this it would do the same thing I described? Fly off on it's own? I wouldn't be as worried if there weren't many trees.

Drones are cheap. The ones that you need an app for kinda suck but I would rather lose a $25 one than an expensive ones. And compared to the ones that were out in 2014 they're miles better.

Maybe it flew off because of the software and detected the line

If I bought an expensive one, it would be one of those DJI ones I think they're called because the government is trying to ban them do it's the best advertisement. I think they're like $300

With cheaper ones it depends on what you get. You could buy a cheap one with extra batteries and shit that costs as much as a higher quality one. But I don't think I've paid over $60. And I do think the quality keeps getting better. The one I lost I had extra shit like that and got a few years ago, but the camera sucked, and the app kind of lagged. But if you had the same thing in 2014 that was some fancy shit, idk if the more expensive ones had all that.

I've seen videos of these DJI ones surviving big falls but I think cheaper ones would do that too. But I assume they're built better all around.

It probably depends, but the lighter and cheaper they feel, to me it seems like the more durable they would be with falls.

I think it would be fairly easy to upgrade them with recycled phone cameras too.
