For being a remake 100 years later, this movie manages to hang onto the eerieness of early 20th century horror films. The camera shots are great, slow panning and level shots create a slow pace that is occasionally broken.

The sound design is pretty typical for a horror movie, the costumes and sets are pretty good and AFAIK accurately portray Victorian Germany.

8/10. My only notable contentions with this movie are that some portions of the plot are spoon fed to you, some characters where more or less unnecessary (2 children, a doctor's assistant, etc.), and some parts of the movie by FAR overused low frequency rumbles and infrasound.

I'm mad bcus I wanted to go to the cinema today, but a family member just had to gift me an attempted murder for Christmas, deliberately gave me covid when they knew they had it and didn't have to come anywhere near me. Now I have body aches and can't do anything except plot revenge.

This is the plan now because I have a feeling painkillers won't work.

If my cat dies because of this, I won't say what I'll do. If my symptoms last, well ik how to piss them off. I've had all their banking details on standby for a time like this.

It may not be attempted murder but it's definitely negligence because she's a nurse and should have known better, she didn't have to come see me. She doesn't care about making me sick and it did sound like something that could kill a cat. I expect to be in intensive care next week or voiceless, and she'll pay for that.

With any common flu, you transmit the thing long before you even show any symptoms.

The common flu has been around since the 1920s. You have a 99.97% chance of recovering from it. You have more of a chance of being hit by lightning than dying from the common flu.
