2024-12-21 at 9:49 PM UTCI’m so glad I can now relive the nostalgic good ole days of 2017 in my favorite video game. Most you kids don’t remember that ancient history, but I with all my wisdom an experience can recall that distant past and look forwards toward its return

2024-12-22 at 2:59 AM UTCKey points to remember:
Different languages: "YHWH" is written in Hebrew, while "Allah" is Arabic.
Interpretation and usage: While both are considered the name of God, the specific understanding and reverence surrounding each name varies between religions.
No exact pronunciation: Due to its sacred nature, jedis traditionally avoid saying "YHWH" aloud and instead use substitute terms like "Adonai" (meaning "Lord") -

muh tetragramatrom
https://taylormarshall.com/2008/08/rome-prohibits-pronouncing.htmlI just read about this over at the Shrine of the Holy Whapping. Cardinal Arinze, Prefect for the Congregation for Divine Worship, has released a statement that Catholics ought not to pronounce the divine tetragrammaton [YHWH] in biblical texts and within divine worship itself. This is because the sacred tetragrammaton was never pronounced in Christian contexts nor was it ever left untranslated in any of the languages into which the Bible was translated.
The Septuagint and the authors of the New Testament simply substituted Kyrios (“Lord”).
Saint Jerome substituted Dominus and the English translators have denoted the sacred tetragrammaton by all caps: LORD. This tradition should be maintained.
