Speaking of trash. I've found cases of beer and hundreds of dollars worth of food in dumpsters occasionally. Some stores have a policy to through out a six pack of beer if one bottle is damaged. The food is thrown out daily in a lot of places and is perfectly fine usually although I'd strongly recommend baking the food before eating for safety reasons.
Endotoxins or lipopolysaccharides accumulate in the body and make strokes a shit ton more likely, so protein rich stuff shouldn't be kept around if not cooked.
Researchers recently found a component of human physiology that once activated with a commonly available enzyme, almost guaranteed the person will have a stroke. Bladder infection is a common reason for stroke because of the LPS.
Nothing will show up unusual in an autopsy, but a major stroke is a death sentence cause it destroys your immune system. A slow and painful way to die.
The human body is so fragile. A tiny blood vessel in the top of the brain pops, and it's a tragic downward spiral after that.
So yeah, careful with dumpster food. Just cause you don't get sick immediately doesn't mean you won't later in
But yeah.
Bulk pickup day is more interesting. Small satellite dishes are a couple hundred $ used. More useful for DIY though. Lots of metal screens and other useful shit. Electronics and motors, untraceable components. Free clothes and shoes from Goodwill dumpsters for disguises
EDIT: also, if on a budget and trying to add muscle, it's a shitload of surplus calories and free protein... Nobody poor in the US has to ever starve. Donut shops and bakeries have a lot of stuff, often in good condition and that stuff takes a long time to go bad.
Meat can be cut into strips and smoked to preserve it for a long time although it will often have nitrites.

And if you're poor though I don't like dishonesty, some churches have shitloads of money to provide the homeless with high quality clothes and footwear, so you can just pretend you're homeless. Food pantries also

My friend found a 50,000$ watch in the trash. Other people I know specialize in finding j3wels. Some are electronics wizards. I stick to whatever looks like it could be useful for DIY things.
I discovered the city's old dump by accident. It's full of cactus and coyotes, but there's ancient artifacts and valuables too. People I showed the place to became obsessed with it.

Remember when someone contacted the FBI about Hikki for threatening a Synagogue and "Spraying a schoolyard" him and his mom lived near while car camping. and he had that stupid fucking raggity andy doll he literally would sleep with and had a name for it.
I'd give 10 bucks for that thing just to set it on fire (The doll, not Hikki)
and record doing it just to watch him cry

I don't think he was high enough on the food chain to have a price
Got a lot of people's panties in a twist though
