Before I got locked up for 4 years in 2013 I would post on zoklet on a shitty Nokia n95 that I had to zoom in on to type and reply to topics.

I was a full blown alcoholic around this time with a benzo addiction and used to spend alot of time in a low reclining chair, shitposting with my phone and shitting in my pants at the same time 👖

2009 was when Totse closed but Zok had operated the unused forum for 2 years prior. It wasn't until totse closed that it was widely adopted by the community.

Zok used to be my co-mod in four Zoklet forums, but he was incompetent, so I made him boot himself out of all of them and it was only me running them.

I plan to do drugs in the future. I have always been able to keep the lights on and keep the drugs and money coming in one way or another so it just doesn't seem like a problem to me. I need to work 24/7 to keep busy or I will spend all my money on drugs and booze out of boredom. I don't get bored if i'm working and getting paid so I just need to orient my life to do that all the time

I think I first boarded after seeing the SSID (Service Set Identifier) that read NIGGASIN*SPACE

and I knew 'Space' was a newish subset domain like com and org. (Says 2014 but it was newish to me) I think 2017 I first boarded this innerweb ship.
I don't think it was the user beige but I think that was my first username I chimed in and spoke.
I lurked a few weeks or a month. I thought Wow small world but then I realized nirvana net and totse came out of the Berkeley area which I am in currently. so it's not super surprising.
but the source from a member was Lanny lived in my building with his parents (possibly?) and then bolted. moved to the deep south

I'v already got into it that Frala might of came from DH, however she also was a former member of the zok and tot and this is why they all just ended up here. Think about this for a moment. DH closes down so they end up on a dot-space site that for many years Lanny didn't even register it with ICANN. sounds fishy af.

then there is the whole Wintemute thing. Lostcause (seems to be buddies with Frala.. same age too)

    yeah. FUCK THIS SHIT

then Frala defends Lanny that "he was just a kid when 9/11 happened"

I didn't say he was responsible and I didn't say Jeff Hunter was. but.. it seems to really bend everyones chain when brought up. a bunch of fucking filthy Weather Underground groomed Mil and Zoom gen

    come at me, Babe!

Formally graduated a few months prior back in 2015 and did nothing. Fast forward to almost 2025 and I’m still doing nothing. I wasted a decade.

you really believe Trump is some savior? the libtards will gain hold of empowerment and a new revolution will begin.

just give it a year before shit gets annoying and the worshippers of the underdog people come out in force.

I'll sit and watch and laugh with glee. because the world is a shithole

I actually do more drugs now (when/if I get them) because i've been alive this long and don't expect to be alive much longer which means any semblance of responsible use is abandoned and at this point if there is any drug in front of me I will abuse it until I get sick or I will not enjoy myself. It's just how it has to be

I'm only IV'ing heroin and tweak now, no more sniffing/smoking that shit I WANT TO GET FUCKED UP, not "high"
also i found this in my travels and i'm posting it here because I don't want to bump the tinychat thread

I came here after RDFRN shut down, I want to say around 2015 maybe. I was going in and out on a 5 year charge, addicted to any substance I could do and in the full grip of a psychotic breakdown.

Now i still occasionally party (Crouton, bud and such) and I have a job I absolutely love. Things are going pretty good, definitely compared to where I was when I first came here

Back when NiS opened I was just out of college adjusting to not being dirt broke all the time. Was pretty excited about getting to do programming as a job, writing the forum software at night, generally pretty wide eyed. I was also drunk a lot and would try about any drug someone would offer me, which was something that happened a lot more back then lol.

Now I’m older, fatter, and happier. Significantly more jaded too lol, realized professional software development is more office politics than technical, tried going into research and realized that was the same thing for much much worse pay. Now I mostly punch the time card and do whatever pays without putting too much of myself into work until I amass enough money to build my bunker in the mountains and start my mail bombing campaign.

    Let's see...

I joined here in 2017, so at that time I was still living in my shitty apartment. My wife and I had dumped our entire life savings up to that point into starting our business. We had no idea if that gamble was going to pay off or not. If it didn't, we quite literally would've needed to file for bankruptcy.

As it turned out, the business took off. Started making many multitudes higher pay which allowed for us to purchase our first home on a nice large plot of land, fully furnish it, and all of the things that go along with buying a home.

It allowed us to start having vehicles made to order and delivered to our local dealership brand new, which is something neither one of us had ever done before.

It allowed us to go from having menial savings to having various retirement accounts, savings, etc. I've become much more well traveled than I was before and the entire globe's worth of destinations to go now that we go on a big vacation to a new place every year.

So basically, in the time from when I first joined to now, my financial situation drastically changed which allowed me to become a homeowner and buy other nice things.

I was already clean from the drugs back in 2017 and still am today with the exception of alcohol and cannabis, so I can't really say that has changed from then to now.

I'm definitely happier too. Going from feeling like you might not ever get anywhere in life because of your poor financial situation to suddenly feeling like you're going to be ok after all is a pretty good feeling.

So yeah, no big epiphanies or spiritual awakenings, just making a shitload of money.

Almost no forks of communism devolved into suicide cults. Except for the Japanese Red Army, those guys were nuts.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asama-Sans%C5%8D_incident
    The Forest Incident (1971–1972)

The group retreated to a mountain lodge in the Japanese Alps to train and prepare for their revolutionary activities. Over the course of several months, paranoia, power struggles, and radical interpretations of Marxist doctrine led the leaders to enforce brutal "self-criticism sessions" on members. These sessions were meant to purge "bourgeois thinking" but turned into torture.

Purges and Deaths: Members were forced to beat each other and endure extreme conditions. Those who were deemed insufficiently committed or "ideologically impure" were executed or left to die. Out of about 29 members, 12 were killed during this period.

Why Such Failures Would Never Happen Under Lannyism:

Focus on Unity: Lannyism’s harmonious development and non-interference principles prevent paranoia and infighting, emphasizing unity over ideological purity.
Flexibility in Ideology: By maintaining ideological sovereignty, Lannyism avoids rigid dogmatism, ensuring that the system evolves with the needs of its people.
Respect for the Individual: Lannyism protects individuals’ natural development and contribution to the collective, rejecting coercive practices like purges or forced "self-criticism."
Daoist Inspirations: The balance and interconnectedness at the heart of Lannyism ensure that all decisions contribute to the broader harmony, avoiding extremist behaviors.

In short, Lannyism transcends the failings of traditional communism by rooting itself in balance, adaptability, and respect for human and societal growth. Under such a system, the United Red Army’s failures would be inconceivable, as harmony and development take precedence over ideological extremism.
