2024-10-31 at 7:34 AM UTCFor the record I just think another Trump presidency would be funny. I'm not particularly invested in whether he wins or loses.
This is partially why I keep saying he's going to lose (aside from the fact that he's absolutely, definitely going to lose for realsies). If he wins I will find it very funny, and if he loses then at least I called it. -

Covid lockdowns were one of the most authoritarian events of our lifetime. Vax cards. Vaccine mandates. Public shaming. Tech censorship has also been a predominately progressive invention. Cancel culture was mostly relegated to christian parent groups at one time, but now is the bread and butter of the left wing grievance gestapo (with conservatives taking pages out of the playbook to limited effect). The entire modern liberal conception of intersectionality is built on the philosophical framework of hierarchies, victim groups, privileges, oppressed and oppressors. As for the exaggerating fear or threat to gain allegiance… the “literally hitler” meme comes to mind, among other things. -

The lockdowns were necessary to maintain public safety, it was a pandemic. If you're talking about censorship of hate speech, that is necessary because people can become radicalised. Those influencers pushing misogyny are going to be responsible for femicide. Christians are always shaming people. If someone is compared to Hitler maybe they are like Hitler. You can elaborate on liberal philosophy, there's nothing to respond to as you've made a vague statement. -
2024-10-31 at 2:44 PM UTCThis has really lifted the veil on just how stupid men are.

2024-10-31 at 2:47 PM UTCThis is why women choose the bear. Men who believe in conspiracy theories aren't safe to be around, they could believe women are witches next, and they did in the past.

Any necessity doesnt make it less authoritarian. Im sure most authoritarians would suggest that the things they do are for people’s own good. “Hate speech” is entirely subjective, and radicalization is just another way of saying that people might start believing things you dont like. Its the same reason Floridians and conservative states want to ban books on gay shit. Maybe Hitler is just a reductive, easily digestible lie because people are too simple to grapple with any kind of nuanced position ie- its possible for someone to do things you dislike and not be the moral equivalent to someone who started a world war and apparently committed genocide. You dont think that a really lazy comparison? When you asked me to elaborate on liberal philosophy, were you talking about the bit regarding intersectionality? -

Trotsky
why are you even quoting trotksy; none of it is relevant. have you decided you're a communist now?
“The principles of liberalism can have a real existence only in conjunction with a police system. Anarchism is an attempt to cleanse liberalism of the police. But just as pure oxygen is impossible to breathe, so liberalism without the police principle means the death of society. Being a shadow-caricature of liberalism, anarchism as a whole has shared its fate. Having killed liberalism, the development of class contradictions has also killed anarchism. Like every sect which founds its teaching not upon the actual development of human society, but upon the reduction to absurdity of one of its features, anarchism explodes like a soap bubble at that moment when the social contradictions arrive at the point of war or revolution.” -
2024-10-31 at 3:21 PM UTCI'm starting to think you don't know what a communist is, that you think it's Putin or Stalin.
