Immigrants assimilate they don't dilute. I bet you think the US was built by Immigrants. If so that means you don't know the difference between Immigrants and settlers.
Immigrants leave their nations to go nations already established. Settlers leave their nations and create something new in the wilderness.
Todays "immigrants" go almost entirely to urban areas. The term "settler" is generally defined in rural contexts.
Also I realize the EU has legalized mass unvetted imagination but the US still has laws, which are being criminally ignored by the current administration, which prohibit such.
Currently the US takes in more legal immigrants than any nation on Earth. So fuck any POS who breaks our laws to come here. Take a fucking number and wait your turn just like I do at the DMV bitches. -

For that to happen, you'd have to make buying votes from foreigners illegal, with mandatory prison sentences for non-compliance. -

The democrats in the US are not looking for more votes with sanctuary policies. At least not in the short term. Long term over the next 30 to 30 years yes.
The reason for it over the last 20 to 30 years is for increasing the number of electors in the electoral college and the number if seats in the house. You see these two things are not determined by the number of US citizens in a state or congressional district just by the number of residents regardless if citizenship.
Once they have more seats in the house and more electoral votes in blue stares like California, New York, Washington, Oregon, New Mexico, Illinois, etc, they will have the votes to pack the Supreme Court like FDR tried and failed to do in the 1930s.
They play the long game, multi- generational. -

The argument pro-immigration sorts make is basically that migration is our punishment for colonialism. No one even pretends any more migration is a good thing, that diversity is a "strength", or that these people will pay our pensions. -
