   I've emailed authors and developers of obsolete hardware and software multiple times and 9/10 it results in success.
   
   I just got an very obscure video board replacement for an MSX computer that I've had dead for 3 or 4 years….the project hasn't had any activity on it for years and was apparently abandoned at early development stage due to lack of interest…the result was the guy sold me his prototype board (the only one he had left) and it worked perfectly…that also involved him shipping it from Russia which at first was rejected by customs.
   
   Your plugins I'm sure as sitting in multiple places other than the internet archive…step 1 is contact the author…step 2 is use relevant forums to request it…step 0.5 is save the downloaded files of any plugins you use int he first place! I have a driver database that I've built over DECADES for this very reason.

   Um as I already stated...I've had to use the internet archive maybe twice for obscure drivers (which again I didn't really need)...so no it's not being contrary it's the fact I didn't NEED to use it at all...I've always found what I needed from other sources.
   
   And as they are actively encouraging piracy it's reasonable that it be taken down.
