The Geographic Significance Of Indonesia.

Indonesia is geographically one of the most important nations in the world. Let's take a look at why.
1: Straits and trade routes.
"Nearly one-third of the 61% of total global petroleum and other liquids production that moved on maritime routes in 2015 transited the Strait of Malacca, the second-largest oil trade chokepoint in the world after the Strait of Hormuz." Not to mention the straits of Sunda, Makassar, and Lombok.
2: Wider geographic importance.
Indonesia sits at the crossroads of the Pacific and Indian oceans. 60% of Chinese oil imports goes through the strait of Malacca.

Indonesia has to do a lot of things, but clearing the rainforests in the center of their islands would help make room for industry and agriculture. Not to mention Indonesian gold and oil.
around half of the population is in Java, and the population of Java is pretty evenly dispersed throughout the island. But on islands like Borneo and Sumatra that are pretty big as well, they are heavily forested, and the population on these islands is heavily concentrated in a few metropolitan areas.
Not to mention the utter lack of people on the lesser islands in the east that are ripe for agriculture, like the Moluccas.

srsly tho, as the name implies, malacca belongs to mal-asia and all the ships that traverse the strait of malacca have their port of call in mal-asia or singapore.
indonesia plays no significant role in this due to their lack of infrastructure to support it.
indonesia is a retarded county. -
