What is the meaning of life?

  1. Obbe Alan What? [annoy my right-angled speediness]
In the beginning, God created the earth, and he looked upon it in His cosmic loneliness.

And God said, "Let Us make living creatures out of mud, so the mud can see what We have done." And God created every living creature that now moveth, and one was man. Mud as man alone could speak. God leaned close as mud as man sat up, looked around, and spoke. Man blinked. "What is the meaning of all this?" he asked politely.

"Everything must have a meaning?" asked God.

    "Certainly," said man.

"Then I leave it to you to think of one for all this," said God.

    And He went away.

The authors wrote, per an excerpt in the Post, that Trump did seem to understand Pearl Harbor was significant, but was light on the details. He reportedly appeared to think he was visiting the site of a historic battle, which isn't necessarily an inaccurate description — the attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise Japanese military strike against a U.S. naval base that prompted Washington's entry into World War II.

    lol.

Yeah, ask any person at/on the brink of death or experiencing a tragedy circumstance… if GOD exists or not! cuz from what I hear from most Veterans, when the bullets start flying… even the hardest deniers will either cry for their Mama or for God!

    lol.

It's established fact it wasn't a surprise at all. The US provoked it through blockades and through signals intel knew it was coming, which is why they sent their only irreplaceable ships, the carriers, to sea right before.

Meaning is something people create and give to the world.

Humans are the craziest animals in the jungle. Instead of just doing what we do, we think about what we do, and we wonder why we do. We make up words to symbolize the things we think and create language. We think about thinking, and we over-think and call that philosophy. Philosophers pretend to lead us back to reality on ways paved with more words of higher abstraction, like devils promising to lead us to Heaven. If the devil is the Father of Lies, words are surely the Mother.

Conscious mind is a creation of words. The nemesis of abstraction is that the symbol becomes the reality, and the individual differences in the real world are occulted behind the Veils of Maja. As the focus of the mind shifts from the immediately tangible world to verbal concepts, the mind becomes separated from the body and both lose their health. Paradise is a myth about a preverbal Consciousness, before men created words and subsequently mistook the symbol (idol) for reality (God); the Fall of Man and his Expulsion is the consequence of worshipping verbally fashioned images.

Artists have a vocation to express their perceptions of reality from every point of view that man can reach, at every different time that man can live in, to provide us with handles on universal truths. All the myths and all the religions present us with different pictures of the same panoptic entity, and that entity is ourselves.

It's probably some kind of energy generating process that has a higher purpose. The meaning of life and the personal meaning of human life are two different things to me but they are intertwined.

    Tiger got to hunt,

    Bird got to fly,

Man got to sit and wonder, "Why, why, why?"

    Tiger got to sleep,

    Bird got to land,

Man got to tell himself he understands.

So the concept of meaning itself is an emergent phenomenon that springs forth from our very being. We know we are conscious, therefore we know there must be some concept of meaning.

If we weren't here, there'd be nobody to question the meaning of anything. But here we are.

So meaning only exists because of us. And because we exist, we have meaning.

It's actually a kind of responsibility we have. As far as we know, we humans are the ONLY agents of change, of thought, in the entire universe. In fact, we ARE the universe: we are the product of what happens when you put a bunch of hydrogen and helium in one place for a long time, eventually it starts thinking and that's us. We are the universe itself given form.

So it's our duty to give ourselves meaning, because if we don't do it no one else will. The universe is certainly meaningless without us.

What that meaning is, is up to us to decide. Some people believe there is a god and that's fine, that can be their meaning. But people without gods can have meaning too, we can find meaning in love and community and our accomplishments.

That's kinda what I think of "meaning" in general. I could get more specific but basically I think there is something else other than this, what we experience now. Some continuation. I don't know if that's a personal continuation of each individual, like a soul or something, or just life itself as a whole continuing in some form, forever.

But I think it's going somewhere. It's building to something. And we're part of that.

Maybe eventually we can become gods ourselves and make our own realities. Maybe that's what this is, a crib for gods. But that's a little more speculative.

Bottom line is, you're alive now. You can experience happiness and fulfillment NOW. You can do things that make you proud you did it. You can have fun. You can choose to do whatever you want and make the most of it. And that's not nothing
