I picked up the MC-10 bigger brother this weekend, the Coco 1 (computer computer). It came with Dungeons of Daggorath game. $40 on offerup, quite the bargin.

16k model though I already did the 64k upgrade yesterday as I had a pile of 4164 chips and it's a 5 min job to upgrade, remove 8 caps, install 4 jumpers and put in the new memory chips. Next job is composite video mod.

The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!

I played Dungeons of Daggorath on my COCO II. I remember using a crossword puzzle dictionary to solve the vulcan ring.

whats the point of buying old computers but refuse to accept the way, and the speed they perform.

thats like marrying a 40 year old because of "love" and then transplant a pubescent vagina into her because hers was so worn out.

If you don't get it you don't get it. 8 bit computers are pretty simple, easy to work on, easy to program and interesting to learn about. Much more interesting than a zillion modern PC clones.

Your complaint could apply to anything old "What's the point in buying old paintings, old cars, old furniture, old jediellry etc.

...the answer is because in many cases the classic items are far better than the shittly built modern stuff that has no soul and falls apart after 4 or 5 yrs.

You're right, I wouldn't NEED to...I choose to. Adding more memory or better video output doesn't change how the computer works, just as getting a filling doesn't change the way your tooth works.
