If someone tells peopel they're going to rape and kill someone online...

2024-09-15 at 4:08 PM UTCOkay in a hypothetical situation let's say there's this guy who is very obsessed with a girl he barely knows in person/but knows online, etc.
And he expresses the desire to rape her, wife her, love her, be her friend, kill her, etc like he's all over the place.
Then he hacks into her email and gets her home address. Expresses again his desire to do this person harm/sexual harm and then disappears from online, no trace of him, deletes all of his accounts literally THE DAY he hacks her email and gets his home address and tells everyone how excited he is about what he's going to do.
How much responsibility both legally and morally do the people in the chatroom have in this situation? Yes he's a bit of a mentally ill persorn, but he did express concrete plans. Do we just chalk it up as unlikely to happen? I did notify the victim in question regarding what he said, what he expressed, what he did and what he said he plans to do but she seems to not care.
is that all we are socially, morally and ethically responsible to do? Discuss. I want to be a good person but I'm not sure what else should be done.
I myself stopped using telegramr because it seemed like a bad place to be around some guy litearlly trying to track down and kill a girl he knows and talk about it like in a serious way and plan to do it and ask people what they think and stuff, that's too much for me. -

1- I'm not allowed to get involved in drama here or I definitely would. I have diffuse situations and bring drama, what I do know I cannot repeat to clients and I cannot have opinions that are negative about clients here.
2- I love this website.
3- I don't know how to do that because I've never done that before and don't plan on ever doing that. -

Mistake #1 is telling your potential victim you intend to rape them...that's an unforgivable schoolboy error.
