A great summary of what I'm trying to embody in my own life.

Did you ever notice that some people take the initiative to improve their current circumstances or create new ones? These are proactive personalities.85 Those with a proactive personality identify opportunities, show initiative, take action, and persevere until meaningful change occurs, unlike those who generally react to situations. -From book on management

I really want to embody this characteristic of looking forward and outward more for opportunities, chances to better myself, and of course expand assholes for sport.

In person I have stopped making insulting jokes, talking down to people, acting like I am superior, responding aggressively or dominating them (non sexually).

it's werid because I have a strong desire to make weiner jokes, homosexual inferences and give people insulting nicknames but I choose not to do that anymore and that's growth.

By appearances I'm a proactive personality, throughout my life I've worked to improve my situation and have been mostly successful. Even now in my "late afternoon" of life I'm still chasing that elusive goal of sweet contentment by upping sticks and move to Kansas City in the new year to start a new life there.

However, inside I'm a complete lazy twat who does things mostly from a self preservation viewpoint rather than a self improvement viewpoint...the two stances simply overlap.

My dad kicking me out at 16 was the driving force behind it all really. It was a case of do or die.

Stop wasting money on bullshit self help/management books.

What kind of bullshit self help is it if you are reading a fucking book someone else wrote and doing what they suggest? That's their help not self help.

    What a scam!

I remember being FORCED to do the 7 habits of highly effective people course when I was at Compaq who loved sending us on bullshit courses all the time.

    What a crock of shit.
