How do I become more of a loser?

2024-09-01 at 10:29 PM UTCFolks, I used to love video games. Even as a young adult. I often wanted to play video games from sun up to sun down. But as I got older I felt less and less interest. Now I struggle to sit through more than an hour of video games. Sometimes I get into them and they're enjoyable for awhile but I don't feel the same draw I used to.
I am hoping some of my friends can help me revitalize my desire to be a grown ass man playing games designed for children and find enjoyment out of it again.
Like I was excited about this game I downloaded (Final Fantasy: Crystalmeth Chronicles) and I went to put ti on, and after 10 minutes I just feel a strong desire to set the controller down and do something else.
I'm going to work ahead in my schoolwork instead of playing video games. I've already spent a considerable part of the day doing school work but I'd still rather do real life obligations and work ahead at stuff I need to do in the future than play video games. Please explain to me why I don't enjoy these pursuits anymore??? -

But when you cultivate healthy habits and have responsibilities, escaping reality becomes less enticing because your reality is actually more bearable (even though it might not seem that way)

2024-09-03 at 4:47 PM UTCSo I'mma keep trying to force myself to enjoy them and I am having soem successs especially with video games I really wanted but couldn't afford/get to play as a child, all for the gamecube lol and highly rated ones.
So I been playing Pikmin 2 last night after I finished all my work, bro I was loving it. I'm looking forward to going home to gayme for hte ifrst time in months.
Also I downloaded Eternal Darkness which was highly rated. I got like 1/3 through Twilight Princess but stopped enjoying it for whatever reason. I think the puzzles r kinda gay in zelda the older I get like o u didn't look at the marking on the door to know to hit the two posts to go through the door, or like u didn't look straight up infront of every door to find the 1 that had a latch.
I really like them games where u swing a sword, or cast a spell and shit and mak ea nigga die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also the pikmin game is pretty cool. I try some of these games I don't really like when they be making you watch these long ass videos to learn the story, liek nigga keep it 30 seconds or less for cutscenes god damn wanna tell me a long ass story, i thought this was a game not a movie looking ass nigger, fuck your ambiance -

Project Zomboid - with mods! each mod makes the game 20% more fun and I have 15 mods!
Minecaft - muh daileysd dotta do da grind and I flipped a hole 1234 items for bank total <400$m > 1bill $$$
Cruelty Squad - I almost beat the game
Balatro - I don't think anyone can beat this game
Dwarf Fortress - my fort is too big my computer can't handle it :(
YUGIHOH MASTER DUEL - I already regret installing this
on the back burner are system shock and uhh idk what else
also Fallout 1 2 tactics are free on EPIC GAME right now. I might play tactics because it's the only one I haven't beat a dozen times.

when I don't play games I learn python on the command line because i'm gonna make my own gdamn game a combo of balatro, Monopoly GO!, WWE Champions, RISK, Chaotic, Mario Party and mahjong spider solitaire
You know why I'm a genius???? Becauase I figured out if you just tell the computer to print these at 333%x size than you no longer need to draw your own graphics

Um why not play the ones designed for adults??...This weekend I was playing Sniper Elite 4 on coop with my 59yr old brother and 15yr old niece who are back in England.
What a way to bring the generations together across the vast ocean. -

anyway, I really try to enrich my lives with these video games but I"m kinda cautious about not neglecting anything else
So when all of my homework for the week is done, all fo the readings, the rechecking of assignments and the studying, only then do I play video games. Andt he moment I Have anything else I should be doing with my time, I focus on that instead of games.
That being said I did play 2 or 3 hours of PIkmin 2 on Monday nigght and had a great time. -
