   Laffy Taffy is a brand. We don't say facial tissue we say Kleenex. We don't say permanent marker we say sharpie.
   
   You can even say things like "Generic sharpie" to describe a marker that is a sharpie but not sharpie brand.
   
   Toffee is almost unheard of here. I think i've had 1 chocolate bar 1 time that had toffee in its description.
