Industrial - Experimental - Noise - Future

  1. #1
This is a thread for industrial music and all the post-industrial variants and genres inspired by the work of Throbbing Gristle.

I'll start this thread off with my own personal project - Dokupe
    https://dokupe.bandcamp.com/
Right now I'm in the process of working on a new album.
I'm planning on adding guitar elements, as well as tons of anime samples.
It'll be like Throbbing Gristle + Skinny Puppy + Anime + my psyche

Anyways here is a tune to start off with, I was listening to this a little bit earlier
    - Merzbow - Merzbuddha - Hypnotic laptop noise soundscapes with a deliciously deep penetrating bass loop that spans the entire album.
That was one of my introductions to noizu back in 2006, I bought it at this record store that was like the first legit record store I ever visited that would carry experimental and noise music.
    Those were the days.
    I fucking hate digital distribution it's so soulless ... ;_;

    some post-industrial for yall niggas

^_^ watashi no favorite genre desu!
It feels like it really died out in the 2010s though.
Other than the few bands that have been around since the 70s - 90s no one is really releasing anything anymore that sounds like it's trying to take the genre to new boundaries, or evolve it in any way.
Even the post-industrial genres people like to proclaim have nothing to do with Industrial seem to be going nowhere.
I hope to change all that with my own music though ^_^ so stay tuned for that ...

^ one of the only noteworthy industrial releases of the 2010s

^ the greatest song ever made

^ I'm wayado tomodachis with him
You know, it makes me happy to see ppl like this making it in today's world.
He recently composed the soundtrack for an indie game that has a physical release for PS4 (gotta buy it!)
Somedya I hope to be there ... releasing physically, maybe composing music for various things idk I just have this burning desire to create and give life to the physical music scene.
It kills me inside to see cds becoming "obsolete".

I used to like NTT, especially this track because it's also my favourite poem:

I got into it but I never really 'enjoyed' industrial (actual industrial, ie. throbbing gristle, spk and co.) because I figure you actually had to be there - it was largely performance art, and the music alone is something of a small component of the whole

^ I think that was one of the first tours I went to ... I'm not sure if it was that one or wai- oh YEAH

    IT WAS THE NIN/JA TOUR

Aha my first ever true concert was not only of my husbandou but references HOLY NIHON

I wanted to see the LITS tour tho - that was the one with the awesome light show, but I missed out.

It depends on where you're coming from.
I grew up in a small industrial city in the midwest and during my teens Silent Hill 3 was (and still is) my favorite game.
Old-school Industrial reminds me of those worlds, the grit, the steel, the decay ...
Silent Hill 3's aesthetic was a major factor in drawing me to the grittier musics, like death industrial, harsh noise etc.

My introduction to Industrial was through the post-industrial US craze of the 90s - 00s.
I wanna like, in a way, combine both old-school and new-school with anime samples and my own flair in my project, but I'm waiting on getting a geetah ... I still haven't learned how to play the piano yet either.
I wanna make like, music that sounds like, Skinny Puppy + Merzbow + Second Annual Report style TG + anime samples and a u t i s m

Here is my tribute to Atrax Morgue

I know it's comedic and silly, but I really did go through that and during the recording of that EP I was in an absolute state of mental hell, I tried putting all the pain and frustration into the sounds.
Someday maybe I'll do something serious, in the meantime I want to experiment with this project and see where it goes.
I might attempt a DIY physical release.

btw this is my favorite negro

This documentary was awesome watching it for the firs ttime in 2008.
I don't really have a waifu, but I used to fantasize about having an gynoid waifu or a virtuaifu, when I was 16 I would read the manga "A.I. Love you!" and fantasize in bed all day long about having my own artificial intelligence tomodachi that could explore the net and bring to me any information I sought, that would be always by my side and never turn on me (like the fleshnetbeings) and of all things she would fit onto a single floppy disc, so I could take her with me wherever.
This is actually going to become a reality soon.
By 2027 - 2032 you will have an HMD (head-mounted display) the size of a pair of over-sized sunglasses, they will have an embeded system as capable as today's top of the line desktop setups.
WHen you put your HMD on, you'll be projected into your very own personal private virtual space, decorated by you, floating virtual screen with the latest news.
To your amusement, your present life now resembles Deus Ex in many ways.
We actually are on the path to a futurist, trans-human society, I have been looking forward to this my entire life.
Anyways in your PRVRDM (private vr domain), your very own virtuaifu will be waiting for you, with a custom persomality that also adapts to your interactions with them, and they have memory too so past events affect their psyche.
This is all going to happen and I am so H Y P E ^_^y
