2024-08-14 at 1:04 AM UTCThis is a pretty common trope in visual novels to have strange creepy computer interactions but I really appreciate the art style kinda like a mashup of PC-98 and Windows 98 very "98-Era" Graphics
The player interacts with Ame exclusively through a pastel-themed Windows 95-esque user interface, selecting her daily tasks via desktop icons, monitoring her stats via the Task Manager, and conversing with her through an instant messenger service called JINE.
Seems to be made in Unity engine so there's nothing fancy behind the scenes, just really good art design. The game's art direction heavily draws influence from vaporwave aesthetics and retro pixel art from the PC-98 era, along with 1990s-era bishōjo games.[4][16] There were originally four different female characters with unique personality traits planned during the early stages of development, however it was eventually decided that the final game would only feature a single heroine, combining various personality traits into the one character
ah yes

I propose we start an initiative to keep it going on.
What you can do:
- Build websites in a manner that reflects the web up until 2006
No web 2.0 bs
- use stand alone instant messaging programs
- if you can use older operating systems like Windows xp
- use 4:3 monitors
- if you're a digital fag use winamp
The most important thing is to build websites that resemble the old web.
Once I get moved I'm going to study web design and build a textboard like 4-ch and 2-ch.
PHPbb and the like are welcome top. -

2024-08-14 at 1:55 PM UTCLooking at the screenshots you'd have to be mentally ill to even want to play that game in the first place.
-
2024-08-14 at 3:43 PM UTCSO Kafka is mentally ill as she plays it?
-
2024-08-14 at 3:51 PM UTCI think it's well established she was mentally ill before she played it.

You can pretty much copy thisexact gameplay but change it to anything to fit in a modern format. Everyone remembers the 1993 hit "Japanese Dialup Schoolgirl Rape Simulator" for the Pc-98. And that ONE game where you are the internet admin of a middle school and can read all the computer messages and control the webcam of everyone in the school. That game is FUCKED UP
