Hammers are a versatile hand tool that can be used for a variety of tasks, including:
driving and pulling nails, demolition, shaping metal, striking, straightening, and bending.

Hammers are essential for many construction tasks and are used by homeowners, DIYers, and home improvement professionals. They are also used in other traditional disciplines, such as carpentry, blacksmithing, and percussive musicianship.

Different types of hammers are designed for different tasks:
    Ball peen hammer
Has a ball-shaped end for shaping metal and a flat end for driving. This hammer is good for metalworking, rounding edges, punching, and riveting.

    Dead blow hammer
Designed to strike surfaces with great force and won't rebound after striking. This hammer is good for automotive applications, setting joints, and installing floor boards.

When using a hammer, it's important to have enough clear space behind, above, and in front of you. You should also place your work on a firm surface and position it at waist height if it's horizontal or face-high if it's vertical.
