Unsurprising to a contemporary spectator, it would be mind boggling to explain to some cold war or post cold war era nigger like paul wozny or spectral "Yeah so we have a communist party with major influence over our young people because they designed a computer program that plays 5-10 second videos in rapid succession for entertainment."
TikTOk is supposed to divest itself from the chinese communist party's influence/holdings but much like the dope man "not selling dope anymore" it's highly unlikely that will ever happen.

Because Trump literally goes on tirades about bad deals with China, blames CHina for the Corona Virus, says "China" in a really unattractive way and espouses his militant support for Taiwan

From about 1997 or so until about 2016 no one really referred to "the communist government of china", apart from some real fringe types and people doing so ironically. Now it's everywhere.
