Like the proverbial frog in boiling water, we acclimate to ignoring more and caring less at our own peril. In the short term, living in a state of peak denial helps us cope. In the long run, it will be our undoing. Because the danger here is desensitization: that we meet this unprecedented litany of “wicked problems,” from climate change to the rise of fascism, with passive acceptance rather than urgent collective action.

According to data from wastewater, the second biggest COVID surge occurred this winter. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates at least 24,000 people have died of COVID so far in 2024.
Well let’s see, the year is half over. That’s about half as many as people die of the cold and flu every year…
So it’s basically the flu now. Did we ever shut down the economy over the flu? Why is this even a point to make anymore? It’s not a headline.

No one can ignore even a single slight against their identity politics no matter how insignificant. Everyone thinks they’re a god damn activist about whatever’s in the news currently, and it’s just making people more incensed while offering no solutions

And you also want to normalize it, so it seems as logical as a bright sunny day.

okay whatever you say you fascist, racist bigot that only hates EARTH and the CLIMATE because you hate JAH and DA WHITE MAN you undesireable less than human robotic demonic scum, you are not the same species of me. I would fucking end your life and feel NOTHING like squashing and ant except I would feel worse killing an ant than you. I hope random people on the street come up and stab you in the gut, in fact I would pay homeless people and psychos to do exactly that if I knew your schedule. I also wish this targeted behavior was legal and I would encourage it and tell all my family and friends and even print flyers.
