The cafe scene was tacky. Literally the heroine was licking some cream, and the hero was like "I wish that was my cream" and fell in love with her instantly and inexplicably. I prefer when the hero and heroine fall for each other after some shared adventure.

And WTF, she wasn't able to hack bank accounts cos the cafe wifi was too slow?

Then he watches her lying in her bed hungover on some sort of surveillance camera, while sniffing her stolen panties. That really brought out his autistic creep side. We later learn he's a CIA agent, and that makes sense, those guys are creepy.

Then he just goes and stabs her boyfriend to death at a party. The kill isn't satisfying, just walking up to someone alone and stabbing them to death isn't very interesting.

The way he carves the boyfriends face up doesn't ring true, like eyes don't just pop out - I think.

The scene where the hero rapes the heroine with a corncob is unintentionally funny.

The rape scene at the end with the Jacobs Ladder on his penis is kinda hard to believe, it seems like what you want if your GF is kinda loose.

I don't think it's a bad book, but it is one with glaring flaws. And it's quite short.

You should definitely write a book. I'd be interested if you want feedback/an editor/ghost writer.

isn't the book club also to hear about what other people have to say? Not just what you yourself think entirely?

IDK if anyone has pointed this out to you but you don't need an online forum to talk to yourself.

I'd say it should be drawn out, with the killer listening to the boyfriend bitch about the heroine and having to nod along with him and multiple interruptions from different people. The ultimate killing should be in the lake, and should be a drowning after the hero loses his grip on the knife, drowning is so much more strugglesome and entertaining than stabbing.

He shouldn't have told the victim not to worry because he was in a rush. He should have said he was going to get something to torture him with then walk off so they die with terror/anticipation.

Nah, I'd have had him stab him in the abdomen a bunch of times, so the victim starts oozing intestinal fluid/product or something like that. Maybe a cut, so the victim starts spewing blood, and that makes a mess of the killer's clothes.

I'm on page 89 and still haven't reached for a vibrator, don't think I will but it's entertaining enough.

The sex scene at the end is pretty hot, despite its flaws.

    That's grand.

But Robert Greene is a simple unsophisticated jedi ethnic advocate.

Why should the rest of us have to take straightforward jedi ethnic advocacy/racism seriously as anything other than simply bigotry, which is what it is?

Some jedi thinks all gentile white men are evil. OK. I'm sure he does. Not interesting.

It's pretty unsettling to know this entire thread was made to harass kafka. I was actually considering reading this book as this thread was presented totally innocently but I suspected something was amiss when there was zero discussion about what kind of book would be discussed in the first place.

I don't think it was to harass me I think it was go get me to engage in sexual discussion, which is creepier.
