Just hearing Julian Assange is being freed
-
2024-06-24 at 11:47 PM UTCI knew 2024 was gonna be a big year, is gonna be a year you will remember for the rest of your lives folks.
Lawyers for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and the U.S. government have struck a deal to end his decade-plus legal odyssey and allow him to return to his home country of Australia this week after pleading guilty to a felony charge of conspiring to disseminate classified information.
Under the pact detailed in court filings made public Monday evening, Assange would be sentenced to just over five years in prison, but would be entitled to immediate release because that’s roughly the amount of time he’s been jailed in England while fighting extradition to the U.S.
Adding another exotic twist to an already byzantine tale, Assange’s guilty plea to the Espionage Act charge is set to take place Wednesday morning in U.S. District Court in the Northern Mariana Islands — a U.S. territory in the south Pacific about 2,000 miles north of Australia.
The unusual venue appears to reflect Assange’s unwillingness to voluntarily return to the continental U.S., along with his deep distrust of the U.S. government. Assange and his allies have repeatedly accused U.S. officials of plotting to have him killed with a drone.

And the Cheeto Chomo could have done it four years ago on an election year but I think likewise was told he would be taking a seat for four years. Four years from now Shitty Joe will surely be shoveling coal though.
Anyway I will believe it when I see it. Even the woman he supposedly married and had kids with has been saying some suspicious things. -
2024-06-25 at 1:26 PM UTCStella Assange his alleged wife was comparing him to Navalny when Navalny got freedom'd when Assange is the anti-Navalny. He has been persecuted for exposing the crimes of the same people who financed Navalny. Which made me wonder if he actually married this bitch. And who's fucking kids are those. They did some special about the wedding but I don't think anyone has heard from him in years.
I'll believe what he says once he's safely in North Korea and able to freely speak his mind. -

JULIAN ASSANGE IS FREE
Julian Assange is free. He left Belmarsh maximum security prison on the morning of 24 June, after having spent 1901 days there. He was granted bail by the High Court in London and was released at Stansted airport during the afternoon, where he boarded a plane and departed the UK.
This is the result of a global campaign that spanned grass-roots organisers, press freedom campaigners, legislators and leaders from across the political spectrum, all the way to the United Nations. This created the space for a long period of negotiations with the US Department of Justice, leading to a deal that has not yet been formally finalised. We will provide more information as soon as possible.
After more than five years in a 2x3 metre cell, isolated 23 hours a day, he will soon reunite with his wife Stella Assange, and their children, who have only known their father from behind bars.
WikiLeaks published groundbreaking stories of government corruption and human rights abuses, holding the powerful accountable for their actions. As editor-in-chief, Julian paid severely for these principles, and for the people's right to know.
As he returns to Australia, we thank all who stood by us, fought for us, and remained utterly committed in the fight for his freedom.
Julian's freedom is our freedom. -

2024-06-26 at 2:13 AM UTCMan I remember when the global NSA leaks happened and wikileaks and all the wild shit that was a crazy time to be a teenager on the internet and 4chan and underground forums and such. I think it had a lasting impression on my perspective of things.

people these days generally don't know how deep this goes and woke means something else these days but back then it meant taking the red pill i.e knowing the truth that nation states are evil machines
