From net importer to the world's largest exporter of cars in two years.
That's industrial ability of a class the world has never had to cope with before. -
2024-06-16 at 11:20 PM UTCYeah Tesla...along with the rest of the US auto industry is highly subsidized and still sucks ass.
Imagine the car equivalent of a Doogie. Americunts can't compete. -
2024-06-17 at 7:45 AM UTCMy fucking Nissan broke down over the weekend.
2 years old and already falling apart.
I hope China destroys the old automakers. -
2024-06-17 at 7:59 AM UTCGod bless China!

the US auto industry has always been about protectionism; the EPA was created to raise the cost of entry to the market through regulation to keep smaller competitors from undercutting GM and Ford.
that's not to say they don't produce some good vehicles, but their costs are just not competitive
Tesla specifically is overhyped garbage that only exists due to government subsidies and preferential contracts though. -
2024-06-17 at 8:17 AM UTCI was half expecting a really fat man standing proudly on a car lot

2024-06-17 at 8:17 AM UTCI'd be interested in how much these Chinese vehicles can be user-serviced though; whether they've picked up the 'everything has to go through the manufacturer' VERTICAL INTEGRATION meme too

You probably order spare parts on Ali Express and they take 2 months to arrive, but at least it's free postage. -
