Scott Ritter had his passport seized on the way to Russia

   He was supposed to be going Russia to do some kind of big economic summit.
   
   Customs and border patrol freedom his passport on the authority of the state department. While this is going on his Russian host is arrested in Russia on some corruption charge.
   
   What do you think is going on?

   He's one of the biggest voices discussing how dangerous and suicidal US foreign policy is at the moment and he was headed to talk at a Russian security conference, seems pretty obvious.
   
   After he openly came out against the Iraq war explaining that the justification was a lie (he was a UN weapons inspector at the time, not just some commentator) he got caught on some noncing charge which I'm still not sure the details of, whether it was legit or whether he was stitched up to discredit him (similar to Wariat it relates to talking to underage girls online).
   
   The justification for his passport being seized is supposedly that after the noncing charge he's meant to give 21 days notice before he leaves the country, though again it's not clear whether he actually did or didn't do it.

   He said the FBI had threatened him I think the morning when he was charged by local police or something like that. It was a pretty obvious Cointelpro job. I just thought it weird that it coincided with his host being arrested by Russian authorities.
