BradleyB's Super Salad
-
2024-05-24 at 7:19 PM UTCFolks this is my favorite lunch. It contains very little dressing, one of my friends said that salad is just a vehicle to eat dressing and that really SPOKE to me so after that I only use about 1/3 the amount normal people use/the packet that comes with it.
If you've seen my Super Vegetable Burritos you already know how I like to cook (I try to use a small amount of everything to gain the widest amount of vitamins and nutrients in a meal)
Also I heard that there's nothing except water in iceberg lettuce so I ONLY use spinach. Sometimes I do cabbage but not really.
This is very delicious btw I am eating it now.
So I start with a lot of shredded spinach, I choose to put my sauce above the leaves but below the toppings. Toppings is a misnomer as their about half the entree.
Carrying forward, I choose to use a fat free gookcum sauce (cuz its yellow and creamy)
Cucumbers, black olives, green olives w/ pimentos, 1 slice of ham diced, a half inch of cheese diced, red onion, jalapenos, white mushroom & portabello mushroom, black beans. Also a little ground black pepper.
I like to eat this a lot and my body feels good when I do.
Oh yeah, fresh lemon juice and horseradish shavings.
Now that I'm not a drunk, I eat a lot healthier and the food has come a long way from when I was eating frozen Roma's Pizza with ketchup and hotdogs with barbeque sauce -

I always get surprised when americans talk about salad dressing when it's literally just trash vegetable oil with some artifical flavor and sugar. The only "dressing" you need is really extra virgin olive oil and salt. You will never look back. Now I could nitpick some other stuff like that chopping but it looks like a nice salad. Made me crave one too ngl. Just please tell me you cooked those mushrooms -

Yeah, I don't know why they don't have labels at the supermarket warning less intelligent people, I think they just assume everyone knowns they are supposed to be cooked, like meat doesn't need a label telling people to cook it but I guess in another 500 years people will fall for some fad diet and forget how to do it too. They just taste so much better cooked I don't really understand why people wouldn't -

While some mushrooms like the white button, cremini, and portobello can be eaten raw in moderation, most mushrooms benefit from the cooking process for both nutritional uptake and safety reasons. Cooking mushrooms helps neutralize toxins, break down tough cell walls for easier digestion, and enhance their flavor.Mar 14, 2023
