Mysterious Glasseware

Does anybody know the name of this, or specifically what it's used for? It was mounted inside a metal box with three brackets, and had what looked like a dial on the outside of the housing.

Maybe to separate condensation from a liquid, if that's a tube within a tube.

I'm thinking of a liebig condenser but don't know if they come in different designs.

I thought the first tube was a tube within a tube my bad. Where is my spatial awareness...

Something to do with the weather

    Barometer
    Condensation

    That sorta thing?

It looks too small and fragile to be for weather.

I can't see it clearly tbh

Like I just noticed now that it's not round-bottomed, there's another tube there. Where the fuck is my spatial awareness. Why don't you go on the chemistry channel on reddit?

Some kind of inside out condenser.

Why don't you ask Bing to identify it?

I tried a reverse image search and it's not pulling up this exact piece. It's 1000% not for weather wtf lol. And I would post it on Reddit but my account is banned for a day for calling a known scammer a faggot scumbag.

Maybe. I have asked 4 friends that are chemists, and everyone agrees it's probably for some kind of distillation, or some step in a distillation process, but nobody has any names or answers as to what it's specifically for. The best answer is that it looks like a specialty piece.

it’s a form of dimroth condenser. Never seen one quite like that but I’m fairly certain that’s what it is.

it kinda reminds me of a soxhlet extractor

but it seems slightly different. The part with the long glass tube and the short top part that looks like it's for either adding something dropwise or a reflux distillation thing. It's kinda got the side arm of a vacuum adapter but it's in weird spots. It's like a really fat liebig but the water ports are all fucked. I'm gonna guess some kind of essential oil distilling rig for something that had a weird BP so they had to have some fucked setup

or maybe it's one of those specific use pieces like a cow

I think it's used in Labs for separating gases or some shit
