Craigslist and thrift stores, find old ass desktops. I'll hunt old ass PCs down to rip out their fans and PSUs for projects.

I keep my eye out around dumpsters for electronics. I then desolder out parts. I almost bought a couple of antenas off Amazon but remembered that I had an old router a previous employer threw away. Saved $10.

    Dumpsters FTW.

I bought a router for $3 at goodwill and hooked it up to my modem over a long ethernet cable, doubled the range of my wifi for like $5 altogether lol.

Yes, everyone knows that the second your bank balance exceeds $999,999.99, you are automatically banned from thrift stores and you are instantly given a contract to sign that says you're not allowed to have* hobbies.

Hospitals throw out millions of dollars of almost brand new, workable computer parts and equipment every week. Check their dumpsters.

They're likely locked though and high security.

Nah. I grabbed a nice brand new keyboard and brand new mouse (that was sticking out of the top of a huge pile of discarded electronics) in a hospital dumpster just a couple months ago. No security, not locked at all. They work perfect, too. Nobody bothered me.

I guess when it comes to it, I realize that I really don't need any more computer parts. I have several boxes full of computer parts but I keep buying rPi's and other electronic equipment.

you can just go out and buy the fans and PSUs and it will still be cheaper and faster and easier than doing what you suggested.

besides, how many fucking PSUs do you really need ???

i have a few that i stocked from pre 9/11 era that i havent have the chance to use becos .....
