They have a built-in protection system, that’s why the power went out. The technician(s) will check it the box needs to be repaired or not, but first they will fix the water leak because otherwise it’s dangerous they say.

    Sounds like an arms/apt

I had the exact problem because the pipes froze in the building in winter, then it burst, thawed, leaked, leaked into power, tripped fire alarms, power went out and we had to evacuate

a real man would have macgyvered a 12/24V generator from a threadmill/bicycle and slapped their spouse into powering it.

everything is low voltage these days.

Hearing Panthrax's prison story reminds me of my experience with the opposite problem.

In the Wisconsin prison system we don't have an issue with air conditioning or being too hot, we have the opposite problem; it's fucking cold.

I was unfortunate enough to spend several winters in Wisconsin prison. Now when I tell you I knew I was fucked at 19 I did not realize the scope of how fucked I was.

In Wisconsin Winter prisons issue around October 3 coats. You get your light coat, get whatever size you wear, then you get your heavy coat, get that the next size up, then your third coat get that an additional size up.

So I wore a 2XL, 3XL and 4XL coat. I thought oh hehehehe this is so silly. Yeah so by December I was sleeping in two coats, I would use the third when I went outside. I normally sleep shirtless not in Wisconsin prison.

Bro the walls don't hold any heat in and the walls and windows develop frost on the walls and literal frozen sheets of ice on the windows from the humidity from your breath (which you will see for 3-4 months straight except during the day) condensing.

I slept under 3 bedsheets, 2 heavy blankets (you normally get 1 light and 1 heavy but the guy who gave me my blankets was also white and hooked me up), while wearing 2 coats and the third I Would sometimes put over my legs or stick my legs through the arm holes.

During the day I wore my long underwear under my uniform and I would wear 2 pairs of socks, 1 thin that I changed everyday and then 1 thick that I had to buy from another inmate that went over the thin ones. My hands were constantly cold because they don't allow you wear gloves unless your outside.

Oh I also had 2 of those cheap beanie hats, I would wear 1 indoors at all times and then two when I went outside.

To warm up we were given a boiling water machine, where eit dispenses water at like 180F (Not actually boiling)

bruh I literally shivered for 3-4 months at each time, wake up cold, go to sleep cold, take a shower and whereever the water isn't hitting you that's cold, do push ups cold, eat cold, wake up again and you're still fucking cold. November to March

I ain't gonna lie to you my mama sent me like 1000$ over the two years I was in prison the first time and then when I got out she said she ain't ever doing that again and the first thing I always do after I'm incarcerated is put up 1k with my mom. I give her like 500$ twice as fast as I can cuz Idk if I'm ever going back but she said never again and meant it and now when I stab dogs or get a DUI she is willing to bail me out for 1500-2000$ because I already have paid half of it myself and just owe her the difference, or if I ever do something really bad and I'm not getting out I got 1000$ to last me a year or two in prison which is like 10$ a week at 2 years or 20$ a week for ra year which is good money for a prisoner.

I don't spend it fast. I try to save what little I can here and there. It's better to not have things now than to need something later and not have it.

I don't rally have anyone I can ask for help in a situation like this
