So I live with one of the dumbest fucking people I've ever met in my life. Not just dumb but gullible as shit. And he's older like 45 or so. So he's all about Jesus but didn't know who Lot was. Like you see a real simple kinda guy, former tweaker, found Jesus and now loves Christian rock and doing God's work (but not reading the Bible lol)
So some guy showed up at this halfway house trying to recruit people for his "ministry." He gave this man a 20 minute talk and a T shirt and a stack of brochures offering him a "job." Now for 4-6 hours a day he goes out to busy areas of the city and preaches about how this pastor is helping people, helping the poor, serving God, anything and everything you can read more about on the brochure while wearing this T Shirt someone made in a basement (Website, a Cross and the guys name all in black boldface on a dirty white t shirt, cuz the guy only gave him 1)
He begs for money and hands out brochures and everyday when he comes home, he counts up "all the ministries money." LOL
The ministry expects/collects 25$ an hour for use of their shirt, pamphlets, name and our friend collects the remainder. Some days he'll be out there for 6+ hours come home with 200$ in nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollar bills and he announces "I made 50 bucks today!" he then excited calls the pastor and tells him how much the pastor collected in the hours he "worked."
But there is a catch, sometimes he makes less than 25$ an hour at which point he has to average out the last 2 weeks so that the ministry gets his money. So if he makes 50$ one day and let's say it's raining or a Monday (his worst day of the week) and he does it for 4 hours and only gets 40 bucks, he has to subtract 60$ from what he previously made a different day! LOL
Once a week this pastor guy (Who is just some random ass Cuban guy in a suit) comes, they hold hands and pray together, one time I watched cuz you know i'm a piece of shit, and the pastor thanked God for putting dude in his ministry to help him serve the Lord. And he gives him about 600-1000$ for the 24 to 40 hours dude worked that week.
And my nigga is like proud to be doing this. He gets up every morning and every afternoon I watch him count up the money, put the pastors 100 or 150$ in an envelope, keeping the change for himself of course because the pastor doesn't want the change he wants the bills, and he goes to the supermarket and buys a pack of cigarettes, a 2L of soda and some food from the cafeteria.
It' sheet saddest shit ever. SOme days dude will come back with 170$ for 7 hours of work and he'll have to decide if he should cheat God out of that 20 dollars to buy saying he only worked 6 hours begging and the church gets 150$ just so he can have something for himself.
But if he goes out in the rain on a Monday and gets 0$ for the first hour, he's still expected to come up with 25$.
Meanwhile I googled the pastor, he lives at a "church" he operates, that doesn't do sermons, doesn't have a website, doesn't have hours of operation and didn't answer the Google telephone number when I called. Drives a really nice car though, meanwhile my roommate feels bad for cheating God out of 20$ when he only collects 170$ for the ministry in 7 hours.

o n dude tried to get me a job there but I Told him since it doesn't pay by the hour and there's no fixed location I can't do it since I didn't wanna just call him a dumbfuck to his face.
Imagine me asking people for money for a church that doesn't exist so a pastor can drive a Mercedes and I can barely have enough money for cigarettes and food despite working 25 hours a week.

Report the pastor to authorities, get me his name and I'll file one too. People like that deserve to be locked up.

Update!!!
The guy now went to live in a cult in Arkansas. He wanted to do something different than be in the heat in Miami begging outside during the day and the rainy season, humidity etc. So he found a "church" and bro this story just develops like a tragedy novel
Him and 19 other men live in a 4 bedroom house, It's two stories. The first floor is some kind of garment manufacturing operation. I saw one blog post that says denim overalls and another one that says demin pants. But yeah basically jeans or jean pants bibs for farmers. So him and 19 other guys either work 6 hours a day or 8 hours a day at this operation making pants in order to supply the "church."
This is the day for their 2 year disciple program LOL cuz they're gonna become disciples of Jesus Christ after this.
Morning breakfast (IDK exactly what they eat), 2 hours of Bible study, 6 or 8 hours of labor at an industrial sewing machine, followed by dinner, then 2 hours of Bible study. THen free time for the remaining 10 or so hours, 6 days a week. Sunday is spent entirely on eating, housekeeping, 2 four hour sermons, and then the two 2hour Bible studies still, oh and pizza from some pizza joint in town.
Negative caveats-
No pay for the 36-48 hours you work sewing. All clothing is made for the purposes of paying for the discipleship program, and the materials are brought in by the pastor and the finished goods are taken out by the pastor on Sundays.
No drinking, drugs, or alcohol.
No money.
Encouragement/Forced to not have a phone. 1 house phone for all 20 men is provided in the living room.
Food consists of beans and grains and according to the negative Google reviews there isn't much deviating from this except on Sundays when the pastor brings in cheese, pepperoni, and sausage pizzas for everyone between sermons.
the Google reviews (because I told him this sounds like a cult so I looked it up) are extremely negative and three people say that they try to force you to stay in there and brainwash you and the guy regularly whips people with an electrical cable or a belt. There's a 21st guy who is there for 12 hours a day and lives in his own building that isn't the house/sweatshop everyone else is in. They don't let you have money, leave or go to the doctor, but they do buy you food, clothing, let you use the living room phone, and family can visit but only on holidays. IT's in the middle of no where.
The guy flew out to Arkansas, I don't remember what city ubt it was like the one big city that had an airport and the pastor so WANTING this retard to be a disciple of Jesus Christ is gonna drive 5 1/2 hours for free in order to come deliver him from the airport. LOL
I'm like bro you're going to join a cult that beats people with electrical cords, feeds you rice and beans, brainwashes you and forces you to do physical labor all day for nothing. He said "I need the structure." LOL, nigga gave me his good pan and all his groceries when he left though. He said to the house manager here "If I don't like it and it's an abusive cult like Bradley said can I come back." xD Nigga doesn't know what he's getting himself into.
So yeah he left on Monday and tried calling me twice a day everyday since then but I haven't answered. He called our house manager wanting to know why I wasn't answering, picking up the phone, texting back, if I relapsed or was in jail and I told the house manager "Just make something up, I dont' want to hurt his feelings but I don't want to know him."
The following users say it would be alright if the author of this
post didn't die in a fire!

I said no drinking drugs or alcohol, but I meant to say no smoking, drugs or alcohol. They don't want you to have any addictions (supposedly) but the real reason is they don't let you leave the house for any reason or possess money so they don't want you to have to go into town to buy anything or have money to leave, if they have to pay you anything they have less money, etc.

Oh and after I showed him the Google reviews when I was helping him book his ticket he adamantly said the pastor (Who he hasn't met except on the phone) is a good guy and these negative reviews are from people who hate him, dont' know anything about the program, are lying or couldn't manage to become a disciple of Jesus Christ in the program and are bitter.
Then later on he asked if he could come back if the shit was an abusive sweatshop like "I" told him.

Imagine that lol, that dude must really be delusional or need something in life because that's obviously a scam/cult type of deal
