yeah most darknet sites only last like 3 or 4 years, maybe 5 or 6 max before they get busted or exit scam. Even the OG Silk Road only lasted 3 or 4 years.

You can only run that shit for so long until shit starts getting too thick and you have to quit somehow, might as well take a bunch of crypto when you leave...

That's because they didn't exit scam or get busted. They made an estimated $10M+ in that time and left without a trace.

All markets should be run like that. As soon as anything goes wrong or any security issues come up either fix them IMMEDIATELY or pull the plug on the entire thing and GTFO

You're at more risk from the DARKNET hacking community than law enforcement nowadays. You have to have a pretty high level of computer security competency to run a DNM because there are entire groups on twitter dedicated to hacking and cracking DNM's and they are good at it. The Russian market is MUCH larger and the shady underground sites allow sales of opiates, nonce p, guns, explosives, terrorism shit which is the main target by hackers.

DNM hackers aren't really interested in people trading drugs online, they don't consider it a problem. But any market that's been up longer than a year always exit scams, gets hacked or busted. Just existing as a DNM market makes you a gigantic target so existing long term should not be a priority. I think this incentive for quick cash it what drives the creation of markets but it's sad that the incentive to scam seems much higher than actually running a fair market with the ideals of silk road

They were compromised very early into the market and had federal agents running all kinds of operations. I think the only reason it was able to keep going so long was so the police could gather as much data as possible. They had a unique level of access to the very first market and I think the community learned it's lesson because nothing close to that has ever happened since.

It was really sus when the SR2 captcha would fuck up constantly and then it turns out it's because the FBI was man-in-the-middle attacking their captcha server and collected every IP address that connected to it and were trying to backtrace them through compromised TOR routers and shit. The longer they kept it online, the easier it would be to track people.

Back then people thought markets that were alive too long were probably honeypots because they can survive every hack and bust seemingly only exist to collect everyones data, and then they would exit scam or something

Imagine if all the exit scamming markets were actually run by agents

Think about it, who would be so evil and scam the underground drug markets like bandits? Are criminals just evil greedy assholes? Or maybe it's all dick head government agents trying to rob drug dealers and get away with it

I don't think AB2 exit scammed. Their servers went off forever as soon as the Turkey earthquake happened and they never went back online with zero word from the staff. It's rumored that they died in the earthquake and all evidence was destroyed

    @ Moderators?

The site had many rules to keep in compliance.. no dangerous drugs or weapons or anything of political nature.
