They could be decent though. I paid $5 for some nameless brand at Dollar General and they work great; terrific even for the price. They look pretty similar to yours as well.

At what price point would one start to see a noticeable difference in sound quality? That's one of those things I always wondered but never really ran into someone knowledgeable enough to ask advice from.

Audio = diminishing returns. Unless you are doing sensitive audio work and/or have an amp and are willing to invest time and effort into being a faggot and downloading and playing FLAC audio, there's no reason to spend over $50 on headphones.
Depending on if you want earbuds of cans, I can recommend a pair

Couldn't see myself using "cans" actually had to google that never heard that term before..I'd like a pair of buds under $50 that don't fall apart easy I swear these $5 ones are already infinitely better than the ones that came with my IPhone.
