We literally have laws ensuring that a certain percentage of the media consumed by Canadians is properly "Canadian" (read: reinforces the regime approved "canadian identity"). We have state-run media. The government can freeze your bank account and take all your money if you support political protests they don't approve of. And we aren't even at war, to justify these draconian levers of control. -

I was in a rental car at the russian border near Salla in Finland last wednesday. It was completely closed.
Apparently the best way to get to Russia from Europe right now is to go to Gdansk, then bus to Kaliningrad.

Yes, state- run media is sketchy. But it's not like your internet is censored or anything , like in China. You telling me that there's no cable channels in Canada where you can get CNN or Fox News television or CNBC or whatever else? With all due respect, i don't believe that they can freeze your bank account and take all your money if you support certain protests. They only did that to those protesters cuz they were breaking the law by blocking the streets. their protests became violent and unruly. There needs to be consequences for that. and the US you'll get arrested and go to jail. in Canada they'll freeze your bank accounts. The US will penalize you for blocking traffic and creating a public safety hazard also. any country would.its illegal. -

no? When I was growing up all we had was CITY TV or the weather channel and if you adjusted the bunny ears right you could pick up FOX Idaho and watch the simpsons but idk we hacked satellites in my house so it wasn't that much of a issue

In a Feb. 15, 2022 statement, Trudeau said the Emergencies Act was his only option as the country had reached a point “where there is a national emergency arising from threats to Canada’s security.”
Truckers and their supporters descended upon Ottawa in 2022 to protest Covid vaccine requirements and other public health policies, blocking a key US-Canada trade route in the process. Donations to the cause poured in from all over the world, particularly in bitcoin after crowdfunding platforms including GoFundMe and GiveSendGo shut down contribution pages.
